Dr. Uemura, Dr. Vassilopoulos or Dr. Shah are specialists in periodontics and implantology. We specialize in both conservative and surgical treatment of gum disease including cosmetic procedures to aesthetically enhance your smile, as well as dental implants that can replace single or multiple missing teeth.

We believe that your right to choose a dentist is an important freedom. We work closely with your dentist, but a referral by a dentist is not required to visit our office. We also welcome referrals from patients and friends of the practice.

What Is A Periodontist?

A periodontist is a dentist who specializes in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases of the supporting tissues of the teeth and in the placement and maintenance of dental implants. Periodontal (perio = around, dontal = teeth) tissues include the gums (gingiva), the bone socket that holds teeth in place, the fine ligament between the teeth and bone, and the very surface layer of the teeth into which the ligament attaches (cementum). Periodontists are experts in the treatment of all forms of periodontal disease, including gingivitis, periodontitis, and periodontal (gum) recession . Wherever possible, we want to help you save your teeth.

The American Dental Association recognizes periodontics as one of the nine specialties of dentistry. Periodontists receive extensive training, including three years of additional education beyond dental school.
